NEW DELHI: Former RSS thinker K.N. Govindacharya has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking live streaming of the Ayodhya case. He says it is a matter of faith of crores of people who are looking forward to getting justice in the case at the earliest. A five-member bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi on Friday decided to hold a continuous hearing of the case from august 6 thin-air when the arbitration process in the Ayodhya dispute remained inconclusive.

In his petition, Govindacharya said that India has become a superpower in the digital world and hence live streaming of the Ayodhya case should be arranged. The Ayodhya issue is of national importance. At the same time, the right to know has been placed within the ambit of the Fundamental Right and access to justice is also the right of the citizens. The hearing of the Ayodhya case should be live-streaming. Govindacharya has also referred to the September 2018 Supreme Court order that seeks to introduce live streaming.

Live streaming will enable those who are influenced by the court's decision to understand how judicial orders are given. In his petition, 76-year-old Govindacharya said that the devotees of Lord Rama are interested in knowing how a person will represent Lord Rama before the SC. Govindacharya said that like him, millions of people want to witness the hearing but it is not possible under the present system. In such a case, live streaming of the hearing is necessary.
