Ex Union minister PR Kumaramangalam's wife Kitty murdered at Delhi home

Kitty Kumaramangalam, wife of late Ex Union Minister Rangarajan Kumaramangalam, was reportedly murdered in a robbery attempt at her residence in South West Delhi's Vasant Vihar on Tuesday, night. The accused has been arrested, police said. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police statement,  the accused has been identified as Raju (24), who was the victim's washerman.

"Incident happened around 9.00 pm when her domestic help opened the door for the family's regular washerman (dhobi). When the help opened the door, he overpowered her, dragged her to one room and restrained her. In the meantime, two other boys entered and overpowered Kitty Kumaramangalam. They smothered her using a pillow," said Ingit Pratap Singh, Deputy Commissioner Police (DCP), Southwest Delhi.

Police said that the incident happned around 9 pm on Tuesday night. It is suspected that the incident happened during the course of robbery in the house. The 67-year-old Kitty Mangalam was alone in the house with her maid at the time of the incident. Kitty’s son, Rangarajan Mohan Kumaramangalam, is the leader of Congress. Kumaramangalam, who was in Bengaluru, left for Delhi soon after learning about her mother's demise. According to police, one person has been detained and a search is underway to nab two other accused.
