Sehore: Keeping in view the election of panchayat and urban body, continuous action is being taken against illegal liquor on the instructions of Collector Chandra Mohan Thakur. The Excise team has seized country-foreign liquor and Mahua Lahan worth Rs 42 thousand 850 while taking action in many areas of Budhni in Sehore district.

According to the information received from District Excise Officer Smt. Kirti Dubey, the Excise staff took guerilla action in Budhni under various sections of the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act, 1915. Till now information has been received from the news that 750 kg of Mahua Lahan from unknown accused from the forest of Khiriyakurmi near village Chikli under Shahganj police station, 19 bottles of beer from number 54 Dhaba on Salkanpur road under Budhni police station, 10 pav country liquor plane, 10 pav Goa Whiskey A total of 16 liters of liquor were confiscated.

The market value of the confiscated material is about 42 thousand 850 rupees. All the accused were arrested after registering a case under the Excise Act. Simultaneously, spot action was taken by searching the dhabas and other places of Budhni circle. Action was taken by Assistant District Excise Officer Amitabh Jain and Excise staff, the proceedings against illegal liquor will continue.
