NEW DELHI: Ghulam Nabi Azad, the former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir and a top Congress leader, has tested positive for COVID-19. "I have tested covid positive today and am under home quarantine," Azad said on his Twitter account today, confirming the news.

In the meantime, the number of infections in India has decreased slightly in the last 24 hours. On Tuesday, the government registered 9,923 new cases of Coronavirus infection and 17 deaths attributable to COVID-19.
On Monday, India reported 12,781 new COVID-19 cases, including 18 deaths.

According to India's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 7,293 people have recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people who have recovered to 4,27,15,193.

Notably, the total number of active cases in the country is 79,313 with a positive rate of 2.55 percent and a rate of 0.18 percent. India has completed 85.85 crore tests in total, with 3,88,641 exams completed in the last 24 hours.
According to the data, the country's weekly positive rate is 2.67 percent.
