The archrivals for the decades joined hands for the Lok Sabha elections to defeat the Modi-led BJP. The Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) joined hands, their leaders Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati announced their alliance for the Lok Sabha election. The BJP was anticipated to suffer a setback in Uttar Pradesh due to the SP-BSP alliance, but the exit poll survey suggests otherwise.

If the exit poll results hold true on the day of the counting of votes, the BJP is likely to win 62-68 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. The grand-alliance is predicted to win 10-16 Lok Sabha seats with the Congress expected to get a maximum of two seats. This means that Congress might lose one seat. The party had won two - Amethi and Raebareli in 2014. By this BJP is all set to dominate Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha election once again winning up to 68 out of the 80 seats.

In its biggest ever poll survey of 2019 Lok Sabha election, IndiaToday-AxisMyIndia analyzed reactions from 8 lakh respondents. The survey predicts the SP-BSP along with RLD winning up to 16 seats. The SP contested on 37 seats, while BSP fielded its candidates on 38 seats and RLD fought on 3 seats. The BJP had got 44 percent vote share in Uttar Pradesh in 2014 election. In 2017 assembly polls, the BJP had got 41 percent of the total votes polled. In 2014 the Lok Sabha elections Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Pary got 22.2 percent votes, while Mayawati's BSP won 19.6 percent votes.
