New Delhi: In a virtual conference with 9 states and UTs on Tuesday, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya advised the states to examine and expedite the implementation of activities under the ECRP-II package for building the health infrastructure. Mandaviya encouraged health ministers and state officials to fill current gaps by effectively allocating funds set aside for various infrastructure projects.

We can meet any health emergency or public health crisis with better preparedness with strengthened health infrastructure, said Mandaviya, while virtually interacting with the health ministers and other state officials of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Delhi, Ladakh, and Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.

"Given the large number of current Covid-19 cases around the country, it's critical to focus on expanding the reach of tele-consultation services so that beneficiaries may receive timely, high-quality care," Mandaviya added.

He went on to say that it will be a game-changer and will be of enormous value and importance for hard-to-reach and far-flung communities, especially in the present winter season in the northern regions.

"States and UTs must ensure that these centres are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and that they are convenient for both the general public and health professionals. Such professional guidance can be supplied at the block, secondary, or basic health centre levels to ensure the least amount of difficulty and travel ", he enquired of the states.
