Dehradun: Uttarakhand has again sparked a political battle. The Tehri assembly seat is witnessing a lot of turmoil between the BJP and the Congress. Former Congress state president Kishore Upadhyay has joined the BJP. On Thursday, Kishore Upadhyay joined the BJP in the presence of election in-charge Prahlad Joshi and BJP state president Madan Kaushik in Dehradun. Earlier on Wednesday, the Congress removed him from the party for six years.

The same bjp is likely to declare Kishore Upadhyay as its candidate from Tehri assembly constituency. Dr. Dhan Singh Negi, the current BJP MLA from Tehri, is also likely to take on the Congress today. Negi has left for Dehradun from Tehri along with supporters. The Congress is likely to declare Dhan Singh Negi as its candidate from Tehri assembly seat.

Kishore Upadhyay has been expelled from the party for 6 years for anti-party activities. Amid reports of his proximity to the BJP, the party had expelled him from all posts in the past. At the same time, after the release of the second list of Congress candidates, there was a surge among the workers in all the seats of the state. After which many changes were also made in the list late on Wednesday night.
