New Delhi: The Delhi government has constituted a 4-member committee to compensate those who lost their lives due to oxygen shortage. The file constituted by the committee has been sent to the Lieutenant Governor for approval. This information was given by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. He said the committee will start functioning as soon as the approval is received.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that during the second wave in Delhi, there were reports that some hospitals died due to lack of oxygen, there was a huge shortage of oxygen in the second wave of corona, the government has taken the whole matter seriously and a 4-member medical expert team has been formed. Manish Sisodia said that the committee of medical experts will look into the deaths due to lack of oxygen in hospitals, the file has been sent to the Lieutenant Governor after the committee is constituted, as soon as the file is approved from the Lieutenant Governor, the committee will start functioning.

Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said the committee will investigate the cases 2 times a week and take a decision, if someone died due to lack of oxygen after investigation, the Delhi government will pay a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the victim's family in such cases.
