COVID HEALTH CARE: According to a new study held in Hong King,  it is said, About 71 per cent of people with long Covid required medical treatment or were unable to work for six months or more.

According to the survey by New York's largest workers' compensation fund, 18% of patients – the majority of whom were younger than 60 – had not returned to work more than a year after their initial infection.

As per recent assessment of 200 Covid-19 studies published in Nature Reviews Microbiology earlier this month, at least 65 million people are expected to have long Covid.

According to the South China Morning Post, US-based experts estimate that the ailment is present in 10% of the 651 million Covid-19 cases identified worldwide.

Although the World Health Organization (WHO) released an unified clinical case definition of extended Covid in 2021, specialists claim identification remains difficult.

The majority of Asian countries do not keep track of the number of long-term Covid patients. Vaccination  is the best way to guard against extended Covid.

Another study published this month warned that Covid-19 patients have an increased risk of death for at least 18 months following infection.

According to a study of nearly 160,000 participants published in Cardiovascular Research, a journal of the European Society of Cardiology, Covid patients were more likely to develop numerous cardiovascular conditions than uninfected participants, which may have contributed to their higher risks of death (ESC).
