Kolkata: Bengal police have seized a truck full of explosives in the Birbhum district of West Bengal. Police have recovered 5,500 gelatin sticks and 2,300 detonators from the track after the search. Police are investigating where a large number of explosives were being carried. Is there a conspiracy behind it? Who else is involved in it? Rampurhat police seized the explosives during a search on the National Highway late on Wednesday night.
It turns out that a truck was going on National Highway 14. Police at Rampurhat police station in Birbhum stopped the vehicle and checked it after receiving inputs from a secret source. The vehicle was stopped while passing through National Highway 14 near Mazkhand village. Police were surprised to see that the entire truck was full of explosives. The explosives seized include 5,500 pieces of gelatin stick and 2,500 detonators. However, the driver and khalasi of the truck fled after seeing the police. Now the Rampurhat police station has started investigating the case as to where so many explosives were going.
Explosives were recovered several times in Birbhum before the assembly elections. The violence after the elections had caused many allegations from this district. Bye-elections to 4 assembly seats are scheduled to be held in the state again on October 30. The seizure of such a large quantity of explosives has raised many questions. Birbhum has many stone mines that use gelatin sticks. However, it is doubtful whether such explosives are used in that work.
