New Delhi: India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar told scholars on the Indian-Jewish community and India-related subjects that societies in India and Israel are facing a number of developments emerging on the geopolitical scene, including similar challenges such as rextremism and terrorism.

Jaishankar, who arrived on his first visit to Israel as external affairs minister, praised the significant contribution of the Indian Jewish community in the centuries-old relationship between the two countries. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Israel on Sunday on a five-day visit. He expressed confidence that the Indian Jewish community in Israel will bring the two countries closer in the coming years. Jaishankar said this is his third visit to Israel in the last four years, but every time he returns from here he realizes that the journey has been incomplete.

Jaishankar further said that ''like India, it will take a whole life to understand and find this place. So here, I am happy to be back on earth with which we have centuries-old relationships and also among people who are like cords that nourish these relationships.''
