Facebook is in the process of launching a new video service to challenge streaming service providers like YouTube and Netflix. The social media giant will present a professionally produced show through this new platform.
The social networking website announced yesterday that many types of videos will be made available under the Facebook 'Watch' service. It will include video services such as reality, comedy, and live sports.
Facebook will roll out a new feature i.e. the ability to broadcast live video streams from the company’s app for its users, Facebook Mentions. The feature, now branded Facebook Live, began a slow rollout for normal users, initially in the United States.
Facebook's Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg said it would be a platform where you will be able to know what your friends are watching and to see your favorite shows. This will not leave any of your shows.
