On Thursday, Facebook launched its first-ever gaming event in India, titled 'FB Gaming Press Start.' The virtual event, which will take place over two days on October 19 and 20, will be hosted by comedian Abish Mathews.
According to the company, the event will provide game developers, publishers, and artists in India the chance to establish, expand, and monetise their communities on Facebook.
"People can find fun gaming videos to watch on Facebook, follow their favourite creators and game titles, develop important relationships in gaming groups and chats, discover new games, and play those games with people from all over the world - all in one location," Facebook said in a statement.
Gio Hunt, VP of Facebook's Gaming Business and Operations, Ajit Mohan, Managing Director and Vice President, India, and Manohar Hotchandani, Facebook's Business Development Director, will provide the event's inaugural speech.
The first day is devoted to gaming publishers, with presentations such as 'Play 101: Facebook Instant Games and Cloud Opportunities,' 'Get In-App Ads Right With Audience Network,' 'Supercharge Your Game With Facebook Gaming Services,' AR, and gaming community.
On the second day creators, publishers and Esports companies will be able to check out sessions on Facebook Gaming video programs, Gaming Creator Programs and Stories of Diversity and Monetization from popular gamers in the gaming community.
