Facebook will start testing the option to download videos offline in India, say reports. Facebook has sent out emails to select media partners, pointing out it will start testing the feature ,and the downloaded the video will only be available on the Facebook app, so as to protect copyrighted content.

“Starting July 11, 2016, we’ll be rolling out the option for a small group of people to download videos to their Facebook app while they’re online with good Internet connections, so they can then watch the video at any time, offline or online,” said Facebook.

“Publishers can opt out at the Page level, meaning that any video uploaded by that Page will not be available to download.

Go to the Settings tab in your Page, select Prohibit downloading to Facebook in the Content Distribution row.”
