Fact Check: Modi's gross humiliation, travelling in a taxi in Italy

New Delhi: A claim is being made on social media about PM Narendra Modi who is on a visit to Italy to attend the G20 Summit. It said PM Modi is being made to travel by taxi in Italy. There is a picture of a car with a taxi written on it. Congress supporters are sharing it on social media and writing, "PM Modi has to ride a taxi in Italy. When we do not feel good as opposition, we can imagine how poor devotees are tolerated this gross humiliation of their God abroad.''

Now the question is, did PM Modi really behave so abusively in Italy that his opponents in India got a chance to mock him? Or, this time also, they are being targeted by the opposition by spreading fake news. In fact, the picture that is being shared on social media was posted by news agency ANI on October 30. On this picture, ANI quoted sources as saying, "PM Modi had a very special meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican. The meeting was scheduled for 20 minutes, but it lasted for an hour. Pm Modi and the Pope discussed a number of issues that would improve our soil, such as climate change and poverty alleviation, etc.''

Now, the picture posted by ANI on October 30 can be seen in a more viral picture that is being circulated on social media saying that PM Modi did not even get a car in Italy and had to travel in a taxi. A propaganda ist has edited this picture to run his propaganda and others are just sharing it and pushing fake news.

In the real picture, the PM can see that he is coming out of the car, but there is no taxi written on his car anywhere. Besides, security personnel are also deployed around them. Many people are also seen standing to welcome him. Pope Francis himself said on the meeting that no Indian leader could have given him a better gift.
