New Delhi: The Congress, the country's oldest political party, has often been accused of promoting conversions. Meanwhile, a picture of Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi is going viral on social media showing her bookshelf behind her and titled "How to Convert India into a Christian Nation".

The picture is fast going viral on platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter with the claim that Sonia wants gandhi to be a Christian across the country.  With the photo going viral, it is claimed that Sonia Gandhi's bookshelf contains a book titled "How to Convert India into a Christian Nation". Please retweet and expose congress. But when the face of the picture was checked, it was found that the picture was fake. It has been tampered with. No such book is seen in the actual picture.

When Newstracklive examined it, it was found that the picture was taken from a video shared by former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi on October 27, 2020 from his official Twitter handle. In this video, Sonia Gandhi is appealing to the people of Bihar to vote for the Grand Alliance due to the assembly elections, but the bookshelf behind her is nowhere to be seen in the entire video, which is claimed in a viral post. The picture is obviously being edited and shared on social media.
