Mughal Rulers have ruled India for a long period of time. Jahangir was the fourth Mughal Emperor who ruled the nation from 1605 to 1627 for the period of 22 years. He was one of the strongest Mughal emperor and an excellent ruler. He was born on 31 August 1569 and was the son of Akbar.

1. His original name was Mirza Nur -ud-din Being Mohammad Khan Salim and was also known as Prince Salim.

2. Jahangir was the eldest son of Akbar and was very well trained to rule the kingdom after Akbar.

3. Jahangir killed Sikh Guru Arjan dev as he had aided the Khusro (Jahangir's son ) rebellion.

 4. Prince Salim ( Jahangir ) is also said to have a love affair with the courtesan Anarkali.  It is believed that Anarkali became the reason of fight between Jahangir and his father Akbar.
