NEW DELHI: Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, and Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy Chief minster will be in New Delhi on Friday to meet with the BJP's national leadership and finalise the division of responsibilities in the new state cabinet.

According to information, Shinde and Fadnavis would probably meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP leader J.P. Nadda, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, and Home Minister Amit Shah. The source said,  Shinde and Fadnavis will meet with the top BJP officials to discuss the new Maharashtra government cabinet.

The allotment of ministries and ministerial quota for both parties will be finalised during the meeting between Shinde and Fadnavis and the BJP central leadership,  sources said.

Shinde and Fadnavis have already had a preliminary discussion regarding the potential makeup of the next Maharashtra cabinet and will offer it to the BJP central leadership for final approval. 14 ministers will come from the Shinde-led Shiv Sena camp, while the remaining 28 come from the BJP.

Shinde was sworn in as the new chief minister of Maharashtra on June 30, one day following the resignation of Uddhav Thackeray. Nearly a week after taking the oath of office with Fadnavis, Shinde became the Chief Minister on Thursday.
