Hyderabad: Central Excise and Service Tax officials have arrested three accused in another GST scam case in Hyderabad. They are accused of scamming Rs 19.1 crore related to GST. Earlier, four accused in a Rs 67 crore scam were arrested.

Central tax commissioner MRR Reddy said businessmen Mukesh Kumar Goyal, Sanjay Joshi and Rahul Agarwal were arrested in the scam. Four fake companies have issued fake GST invoices or e-web without any business transactions to claim GST refund - Pritam Footwear Corporation, Rajesh Footwear and Yogesh Footwear.

The three traders issued fake GST invoices / e-webbs worth Rs 32.54 crore to secure input tax credit and claims. During the investigation conducted by the Commissioner’s Office, the scandal of the scandal they uncovered came to light. They were arrested after action was taken against the three.

During the trial, the three pleaded guilty. The trio were remanded in custody in judicial custody until January 21.
