Hyderabad: Nagaraju Kartikeya Raghu Varma and his two associates Deepak Kumar Bohra and Gadam Anil Kumar have been arrested by the Cyberabad Kukatpally Housing Board police for robbing them as fake military officers. Two other accused - P Swami Satyanarayana and Srinu are still in the paradise. Police also recovered two manpacks, two handcuffs, dumped pistol, two knives, police uniform, army uniform, car and two cell phones from him.
ACP B. Surender Rao, KPHB Police Inspector S. Lakshminarayana said that on February 1, the complainant, Gurukrupa Nilayam, who lives in KPHB Colony (businessman) Timmireddy Dilip, was kidnapped as a fake policeman. After this, Timmireddy demanded Rs 5 lakh and forced him to take a cell phone and car from him.
Earlier, in a well-thought out conspiracy, the accused Kartikeya had been arrested by his colleague P. Swami Satyanarayana was sent to Timmi Reddy Dilip on January 27, buying and selling old cars and Satyanarayana intentionally pledged his car to Rs 15,000. During this, he took information about Dilip and kidnapped him on this basis.
Kartikraghu Varma first belonged to Kommu Chirala village in West Godavari, he said. He applied to join the army in 2017, but it was not successful. After this, he bought an army uniform and a police uniform. Wearing an army uniform, he went to his village and promoted him as an Army officer. The Pudur police suspected his behaviour. The police arrested him and sent him to jail.
After coming out of jail, the accused Kartikeya is scaring people by becoming an Army officer and a police officer. There are already cases of fraud in many police stations. The cases were registered against karthikeya in 2017, including the Panjagutta Police Station, Ramachandrapuram Police Station, and the Pudjur Police Station in West Godavari in 2020.
