Bangalore: BJP is not in a hurry to form a government in Karnataka. This was stated by BJP state president and former CM BS Yeddyurappa. He said on Wednesday that he is awaiting the central leadership's directive to form an alternative government.

On Wednesday night, several Karnataka BJP leaders including Jagdish Shettar, Basavaraj Bommai and Arvind Limbali reached Delhi. On Thursday, all the leaders will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and party executive chairman JP Nadda.

The BJP is expected to brainstorm on forming a government in Karnataka during the period. The 14-month-old Congress-JDS coalition government led by HD Kumaraswamy collapsed after losing the confidence vote in the Assembly on Tuesday. After meeting RSS leaders at BJP state headquarters, Yeddyurappa said, "I am waiting for a direction from Delhi. We can call a meeting of the legislative party at any time and stake claim to form the government.

It was only with the blessings and cooperation of the Sangh that I reached the State level from Taluka. I came to seek the blessings of the elders of the Sangh Parivar. "I was prevented from taking anybody's favour," said N Mahesh, an MLA who was expelled from the BSP for missing from the House during the trust vote. That is what I did. I did not ignore the order of sister-in-law (Mayawati). In Karnataka, two independent MLAs requested the Supreme Court to withdraw the petition seeking immediate floor test.
