Actor Ranveer Singh is now known as the superstar of the young generation of Bollywood and has proved his performance in films. Even though some of Ranveer's films initially failed at the box office, his work has been highly appreciated by the audience as well as the critics.

Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Padmavat' had a record-breaking performance at the box office and Ranveer was seen in the role of Alauddin Khilji, which is also considered one of the best performances of his career.

But when the 66th National Film Awards were announced on Friday, Ayushman Khurana won the title of Best Actor for 'Andhadhunn' and Vicky Kaushal for 'Uri: The Surgical Strike'. While Ranveer's fans are now disappointed, according to him, Ranveer had to get the award in view of his outstanding performance in Padmavat. Fans on social media are also demanding it.

On the work front, Ranveer will now be seen in director Kabir Khan's film '83'. The film is based on the 1983 Cricket World Cup and will be seen playing the role of Ranveer former cricketer Kapil Dev in the film. While Kapil Dev's wife, Romi Dev, will be played by Deepika Padukone. The film will be released on April 10 in 2020.
