New Delhi: The body of a teenager among three cousins drowned in river Yamuna during idol immersion in Ballabhgarh district of Haryana adjoining Delhi-NCR on Friday has been recovered today while an NDRF team is on the lookout for the bodies of two others. According to police officials, the recovered body has been identified as Sumit. The three children were searched by village divers for hours after they drowned in the Yamuna, but they had no clue until late in the evening.

In fact, it belongs to Kerara village under Ballabhgarh tehsil in Faridabad district. According to police, Sukhbir, a resident of Kerara Colony, said he along with his family reached Yamuna Ghat in Chhayansa for idol immersion after Durga Puja at 1 pm last Friday, October 15. Where the family members went for a bath in the River Yamuna after the idol immersion. Meanwhile, his 17-year-old son Anuj, his brother Karan Singh's son Sumit, aged 17, and Piyush, 16, was buried in deep water while bathing in the River.

The police official said that the three children drowned due to the strong flow of water. His brother lives in Mahipalpur Delhi with his family. On the other hand, there was an outcry when they saw Anuj, Sumit and Piyush drowning in the water. A large number of local villagers rushed to the spot after hearing the stampede. Some villagers jumped into the River Yamuna to save the children, but even after a lot of effort, there was no trace of the children.
