New Delhi: After completing six months of protests on delhi borders, the Kisan Andolan has now made Uttar Pradesh its target. The next target of farmers' organisations is now 'Mission Uttar Pradesh'. Uttar Pradesh is also going to polls in 2022, so the politics behind it can be understood. The United Kisan Morcha has started preparing to intensify protests against the Centre's three agricultural laws in Uttar Pradesh.
Farmers' organisations have said that they will campaign against the BJP in every state including Uttar Pradesh where assembly elections will be held soon. They have practiced this earlier in West Bengal where farmers' head like Yogendra Yadav and Rakesh Tikait had gone and campaigned for Mamata Banerjee's party Trinamool Congress (TMC). All India Kisan Sabha General Secretary Hannan Mollah said that PM Narendra Modi only understands the language of electoral defeat, so this is the only way for farmers now.
Hannan is the leader of the Mollah CPI (Marxist) and has been an MP from Uluberia in Howrah 8 times in a time. Mollah, who has been an MP for 29 consecutive years, has been very active in the 'Kisan Andolan'. The United Kisan Morcha (SKM) is also formulating an action plan for the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. A number of 'Mahapanchayats' will be organized across the state to gather a crowd of farmers and give the slogan of defeating the BJP.
