Lucknow: A farmer, who reached the SSP office along with his wife and children, set himself on fire in Uttar Pradesh's Badaun district on Wednesday. The farmer has accused the police of torture. On reaching the SSP office, the farmer sprinkled petrol on himself and by the time someone could understand something, he set himself on fire. After which the scorched farmer was taken to the district hospital.

Where after the first aid, the doctors referred him to the Bareilly Higher Center. His condition is said to be critical. At the same time, the SSP has taken action against the careless police personnel. Five including the inspector have been suspended. The name of the farmer is being told as Krishnapal. He is a resident of Rasulpur under Civil Lines police station area of ​​Badaun. 20 days ago, his wheat field was set on fire by miscreants. It is alleged that even after complaining about this matter, the post in-charge posted at Mandi post did not take any action.

For the past few days, he was making rounds of the police station and the offices of the officers, but no action was being taken. The farmer alleges that instead of taking action, the policemen themselves decided and started applying pressure. The farmer's family alleged that the policemen of Mandi outpost shook hands with the accused. That's why no action has been taken in his case so far. On the contrary, the policemen kept pressurizing him to settle with the accused.
