Farmers Begin Protest Against Farm Bills, Block Rail Tracks

Chandigarh: Farmers organizations have been promoting the nationwide agitation on Friday in protest against 3 agricultural bills passed by Parliament. However, the impact of the movement is visible in Punjab and Haryana. Punjab farmers have been sitting on the rail tracks on Thursday for several days on the road. In view of the rail roko movement, till Saturday, 20 special trains have been partially canceled and 5 have been stopped before the destination. At the same time, in Haryana, farmers and artisans have announced to block the highway. On the other hand, SP in UP has called for farmers curfew and jam.

In Punjab, the Farmers Mazdoor Sangharsh Samiti has been carrying out a rail roko movement for three days, which is also supported by other farmer organizations. The farmers have taken over the rail tracks at Amritsar and Ferozepur. Workers of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan) blocked railway tracks in Barnala and Sangrur on Thursday morning. 31 farmer organizations of Punjab have announced complete closure on 25 September. During this time the Railways said, the economy is improving after the unlock, in such a situation, due to the disruption of the rail service, the transportation of essential commodities and food grains is badly affected.

Mandis-markets to be closed in Haryana: Markets and mandis in Haryana are going to remain closed on Friday on the midst of the proposed Bharat bandh on the call of All India Farmers' Struggle Coordination Committee. Farmers have warned about the jam on major roads and rail tracks.

Demonstration in all districts in UP: In Uttar Pradesh, SP is going to protest in all districts. The Congress is likely to encircle the Vidhan Bhavan on September 28 and the Farmers Awareness Campaign will begin from Friday to October 31.
