Farmers' agitation: Chakka Jam starts, vigilantly guarded on all borders of Delhi

New Delhi: The agitation by farmers organizations agitating for the new agricultural laws brought by the central government on Saturday, has been blocked. As a precaution, security has been tightened in Delhi and adjoining areas and movement sites. All the borders of Delhi have been sealed. Although the farmer leaders have announced not to block the traffic in Delhi-NCR, the Delhi Police has made preparations at their level. Security has been increased on all borders.

Paramilitary forces have been deployed along with the police. Chakka jam has started at twelve o'clock in the afternoon. Wherever farmers are agitating, the highway has been closed by the farmers. It will last for three hours from now till three o'clock. Several metro stations in Delhi have been closed. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has told that the entry and exit gates of Mandi House, ITO and Delhi Gate are closed. The entrance and exit of the university metro station has been closed.

In view of the violence during the tractor parade on 26 January, heavy security arrangements have been made in Delhi NCR as a precautionary measure. More than 50,000 thousand police and para-military forces have been deployed.
