New Delhi: Farmers' tractor march has begun on the occasion of Republic Day in the country's capital, Delhi. Barricades are being broken by the farmers everywhere. Due to this, the police and the farmers have come face-to-face. On National Highway 24 before Akshardham, farmers broke the barricades imposed by the police. The police then lathi-charged the farmers.

The police had been barricading on NH-24 before the Akshardham temple in Delhi, but some farmers tried to break some barricading with tractors and sneak into Delhi, the police released tear gas shells and lathi-charged the farmers. Earlier, farmers had broken the barriers imposed by Delhi Police on the Singhu and Tikri border. The police are appealing to the farmers to withdraw tractor marches on the designated route, but in many places, the farmers are adamant on the insistence of withdrawing tractor marches from the fixed route. This has led to reports of clashes with Delhi police.

On the other hand, Satnam Singh Pannu, head of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Samiti (KMSC), said that we will take up the march on our route, not the route of Delhi police. We have given 45 minutes to Delhi police. We have told them that we will march on the outer ring road, now the Delhi Police has to look.
