Bhubaneswar: After West Odisha, now the farmers have intensified agitation against the token system in South Odisha. The paddy market has been opened by the state government for the last 10 days, even after this, farmers are not bringing their paddy to this market. Farmers' meetings continue in every area from tribal-dominated undivided Koraput to Berhampur.

Farmers say that the token system is not for the benefit of farmers, but to force farmers to sell paddy at a loss. On behalf of the local farmers forum, it has been said that farmers do not know anything about this token system. No information has been given to farmers in this regard. There is also no information about where and who is giving the token. Earlier everything was in the panchayat, now it is being asked to go to Bhubaneswar.

Many farmers who went to the mandi were told by the government officials that the paddy would be purchased when the token arrived from Bhubaneswar. Farmers are forced to sell paddy to other state brokers. Because they need money. Seemanchal Nayak of Rushikulya Rait Mahasabha said that there has been a warning on behalf of all the farmers of Jaipur that if the token system is not withdrawn in two to three days, then the farmers will protest with Koraput District Collector office with all the paddy.
