Mumbai: Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, who has become the main face of the farmers' movement for the past one year, is in Mumbai today. Here he is going to participate in various events organized. In fact, the United Kisan Morcha is meeting here today at Azad Maidan on the national and local problems of the farmers. Rakesh is addressing the meeting. Rakesh Tikait has warned that the agitation will continue till MSP is made a legal guarantee to farmers. Not only that, they say that if there is a legal guarantee, the farmers will get a good price for their crops.

A meeting of the United Kisan Morcha has been held at Azad Maidan at 12 noon today and Tikait is present in the meeting. The next strategy of the farmer's movement is expected to be decided in the next meeting. Rakesh Tikait says, "Our main demand was to repeal the agricultural law and introduce MSP guarantee on farmers' produce. The Centre has withdrawn agricultural laws and has now demanded that an MSP guarantee be implemented. If the government does not give a legal guarantee of MSP to the farmers, the agitation will not end.''

He said, "There is no compensation for death. Nevertheless, we will demand the Government to provide proper compensation to the families of 700 farmers who were martyred in the farmer agitation for their livelihood. So that at least the lives of their families can be lived. These farmers died to save the cultivation. Today, on the occasion of the death anniversary of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, a Mahapanchayat of farmers and labourers is being held at Azad Maidan in Mumbai. More than 100 farmers' organisations from Maharashtra have joined the meeting while the United Kisan Morcha leaders are scheduled to address the Mahapanchayat.
