New Delhi: A session is scheduled to find a solution to the farmers' issue and to end the agitation, the interaction of farmer leaders with the government today. Thousands of farmers have been agitating on the Delhi border for more than a month against three new agricultural laws brought by the central government and they are demanding the withdrawal of the related laws.
Most of these farmers are from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Farmers still protest in the cold winter. The farmers have warned to intensify the movement in the coming days if the demand is not met. There have been no results in the five rounds of talks between the government and farmer organizations so far. The central government has invited representatives of 40 farmers' organizations for the next round of talks to be held on December 30 to end the deadlock.
In the five-round meeting held so far, the previous round of talks was held on December 5. The sixth round of talks was to be held on December 9, but it was cancelled earlier when there was no result in an informal meeting between Union Home Minister Amit Shah and some leaders of farmer organizations.
