Vogue Wedding Show 2017 which currently takes place in the capital city, the event is a three-day lavish wedding exhibition that showcases the finest, latest and most exclusive services in the bridal world at Taj Palace. It showcased India’s most exclusive bridal extravaganza. PINKVILLA had an exclusive interview with every bride's dream designer Manish Malhotra and here is what he had to say:

PV: What is more important for a bride? Clothes or Jewellery?

MM: You're asking a designer! Of course clothes, I think the most important thing for a bride is her garment and her outfit- her Shaadi ka joda, so of course the outfit.

PV: The biggest mistakes brides usually do?

MM: I think the mistakes are getting lesser, today's younger generation knows exactly what they want and I think the earlier mistakes used to be that blouses used to be very embroidered, along with so much jewelry over it. I think over time girls have learned and the jewelry stands out on something simpler and the lavishness is in the drapes and lehenga. So, I think the biggest mistake brides make is sometimes is when it is too much.

PV: Less is more or more the merrier?

MM: Well, I think that it is a balance between less and more. You've got to be less when you've got to be less - like I mentioned the top can be less if the necklace is really heavy and if your necklace is not that heavy then the top can heavy.

PV: What sets our collection apart from others?

MM: Me! I think I am different, in terms of styling. I sit with the bride and groom and discuss everything, from where the wedding to the environment, to the decor, to their look to their shoes to their makeup-hair- jewelry, everything, I like to get into the whole look.

A Manish Malhotra bride is confident, she is the girl of today, she loves her tradition, she loves being Indian, but she also likes modernity- like me she loves to show the world how India has evolved and changing and no lesser than any less western look.

PV: What inspires your collection?

MM: I think my collection comes out of me and what inspires me is the fact that I want to move with time, I want to keep creating, keep working and I think that staying relevant and moving with time. I think that I keep changing while still sticking to my beliefs with conviction and presenting something new. It is not an easy balance but I think I am managing it.
