Kozhikode, Kerala: A devastating incident unfolded in Kozhikode district early Tuesday morning, as a woman lost her life in a horrifying ambulance fire. The victim, Sulochana (57), was being rushed from a Medical College Hospital to a private facility for urgent surgery when disaster struck.

According to authorities, the ambulance collided with an electric pole, triggering a blaze that engulfed the vehicle. The driver, along with a doctor and a nurse, managed to escape with minor injuries, but Sulochana was unable to get out and tragically perished in the flames.

Emergency responders swiftly transported the survivors to a nearby hospital for treatment. The precise cause of the accident is under investigation.

The ambulance reportedly veered out of control, colliding with a building following the impact with an electric pole. The resulting fire consumed the vehicle entirely. Sources indicate that heavy rainfall occurred at the time of the accident. Despite efforts by fire personnel to extinguish the flames, smoke continues to emanate from the wreckage.
