Father's Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June every year. This year, Father's Day is on 21 June. It was officially celebrated on June 19, 1910, for the first time, but there is a difference of opinion about the celebration of Father's Day. Its main purpose is to make people aware of selfless service and respect for love. It is considered a supplement to Mother's Day. On this day people express their feelings of respect to their father by giving them gifts etc. Now today we are going to tell you about its history.

There is a difference of opinion among historians about celebrating Father's Day. Some historians say that it was first celebrated in Virginia in 1907, but there is no official description of it. Some historians consider it official on 19 June 1910 and it was started by Sonera Dodd. When Sonera was young, her mother died. Sonera Dodd's father William Smart raised her.

It is said that William Smart never let Sonera Dodd miss her mother. When Sonera grew up, she insisted on celebrating Father's Day like Mother's Day, and she celebrated Father's Day in honor of her father, which was officially approved by the US President Calvin Collie in 1924. It is said that in the year 1966, President Lyndon Johnson agreed to celebrate it on the third Sunday of June, and from that time every year it is celebrated on the third Sunday of June.
