Congress In Dilemma Over Placing Sardar Patel's Photo In Video Fearing BJP's Criticism

Bangalore: A video of Karnataka Congress unit president DK Shivakumar has gone viral on social media in which he is seen asking the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to put a picture of the country's first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the Congress office for fear of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This video going viral is from October 31.

 

DK Shivakumar was persuaded to install a picture of Sardar Patel at an event held at the Bengaluru party office on the occasion of the death anniversary of former PM Indira Gandhi on this day. Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar, who were present on the dais at the event, were discussing each other. Meanwhile, Congress leader Siddaramaiah told DK Shivakumar that we should also put a picture of Sardar Patel with Indira Gandhi on stage.

In the viral video, former Karnataka CM and Congress leader Siddaramaiah is seen asking Congress state unit president Shivakumar to install Patel's picture with Indira Gandhi. He says that we should also put a picture of Patel in the party office, if not, the BJP may criticise and take advantage of not putting up a picture of Sardar Patel. Replying to Siddaramaiah further in the video, Shivakumar is saying "We never keep a picture of Patel". However, he is later seen instructing a Congress office employee to bring a photo of Sardar Patel.
