Ranchi: A 17-year-old Dalit girl, who was a victim of love jihad in Jharkhand's capital Ranchi, has finally committed suicide. A young man named Golu Ansari, claiming to be a Hindu, had trapped the victim in a love trap. After this, he married the girl and started pressuring her to convert to Islam. Fed up with the pressure and torture of Golu Ansari, the girl committed suicide. They both have a son.

Former Jharkhand CM Babulal Marandi has raised this issue on Twitter and demanded strict action against the accused. After this, the matter came to light. Marandi shared on Twitter the video of the accused Golu Ansari and the deceased girl and the letter written by the victim's father to the police. According to the letter shared by Marandi, the victim's name is Pooja and she belongs to the Dalit class. Accused Golu Ansari used to continuously exploit the Dalit girl. Meanwhile, he also pretended to go to the temple and marry the girl. Later, he started pressuring her to change her religion to become a Muslim. The couple also has a son after marriage.  

The deceased girl kept telling Golu to take her home and stay together, but Golu did not agree to keep her with him. When the girl came to know the reality of Golu Ansari, he started pressuring her to convert to Islam. However, the girl did not agree to the conversion. Finally, due to the deception and pressure of Golu Ansari, the girl committed suicide on the night of 31 May 2023.

Former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi on Thursday (June 8) tagged the Union Home Ministry, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren and Jharkhand DGP on Twitter and demanded strict action against the accused Golu Ansari. "In Jharkhand, which has become the safest zone for love jihad, another minor daughter became a victim of conspiracy. Pooja, a Dalit minor from Khalari police station, was first lured into a love trap by Golu Ansari, who got married in a fraudulent manner, in the meantime the girl became a mother. Golu continued to exploit Pooja and kept harassing her in the name of taking her home and kept pressuring her to convert. For the past several days, Pooja was under a lot of stress, Pooja could not withstand the pressure of conversion and social stigma and ended her life."

"CM Hemant Soren ji, I am telling you again and again, the roots of love jihad in Jharkhand have become very strong, such conspirators are active in all parts of the state from Santal, who are preying on tribal, Dalit minors. Such elements are being funded internationally. These conspirators are bent on destroying the identity and social fabric of Jharkhand. It is the responsibility of the state on you, do your duty, identify such elements and take strict action against those who nurture them."
