Thane: A female leopard has been found dead in the Yeoor Range of Sanjay Gandhi National Park. Though the leopard spotted at Korum Mall was captured by the forest department, it has sent shivers down the spine of the people of Thane.

According to the reports, the body was immediately taken to the veterinary hospital at SGNP. The leopard is said to be four years old and is anticipated to have died three to four days ago. The body was found during a routine patrolling at the National Park on Saturday.

The cause of death could be ascertained only after the autopsy.

The incident came into light, when a leopard was spotted at the busy Korum Mall in Thane. Though the leapard was captured by forest department officials, it was later revealed that the animal was sighted in the area for many days. The movement of the animal in the area had panicked the residents. The recovery of the body of the female leopard has only added to the worries of people.
