Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made a statement last Friday saying, "Adequate manure reserves will be available to farmers in the state by October 30.'' At the same time, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan also said that he has spoken to Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on the issue. He said, "I am in constant touch with Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and has assured that an adequate quantity of manure will be made available to Madhya Pradesh by October 30.''

Let me tell all of you that due to the acute shortage of manure in Madhya Pradesh, the farmers have started protesting against it. On the other hand, the Chief Minister had an emergency meeting on the matter and was directed to set up a monitoring committee to monitor the alleged black marketing of manure in the state. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan said after a meeting with some cabinet ministers officials, "Today, I have directed the officer to set up a monitoring committee to ensure that manure is being provided in all districts of the state. Also, those found involved in black marketing of manure will be booked under the National Security Act (NSA).''

Let me tell you that earlier in the day, a 45-year-old farmer had consumed poison in Ashok Nagar district for allegedly failing to buy manure, after which he died. At the same time, the opposition Congress has got a chance to attack the Shivraj government accusing it of not providing manure to farmers. Recently, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, "I would request the farmers of Madhya Pradesh to be patient for a day or two. Adequate quantity of manure will be provided to all of them.''
