Rostov-on-Don [Russia], July 03 (NT): Belgium entered in the FIFA World Cup quarter-finals as substitute Nacer Chadli scored in 94th-minute the dying seconds against Japan to clinch a 3-2 comeback win on Monday at the Rostov Arena.

Substitute Nacer Chadli scored in the 94th minute of injury time to knock over yet another sadden in the World Cup, after the Red Devils had cancelled out Japan's two-goal lead through Jan Vertonghen and Marouane Fellaini. Now Balgium has become the first team to enter from two goals down in a World Cup knockout game since West Germany knocked out England in 1970 the upset Japanese, who went 2-0 up with goals by Genki Haraguchi and Takashi Inui early in the second half, knock down to the sod after Chadli push the ball home from Thomas Meunier’s cross four minutes into extra time.

Belgium had taken a conservative approach to the game and it got back into disputation with late goals by Jan Vertonghen and substitute Marouane Fellaini before Chadli struck.

With this win, Belgium will lock the horns in tournament all favourites and five-time champions Brazil in the quarterfinals on July 6 in Kazan Arena. (NT)
