Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala is making arrangements to treat about fifty thousand patients of corona infection at one time. The state is struggling with the third wave of corona and the number of infected people getting treatment for corona infection has crossed 7 thousand in the last two months. State Health Minister KK Shailaja has said that experts have feared that there may be an increase in the next month. She has said that such a situation can be dealt with the treatment the government is doing.
The first case of corona infection in India was reported from Kerala in January, after which the state successfully prevented the spread of corona. There has been a sharp increase in the corona cases since the month of May in Southern Part because thousands of people from abroad and other parts of India have returned to the state. Although the number of corona patients is lower than the neighbouring states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Kerala is preparing for any emergency situation and is preparing to enhance the Covid care infrastructure.
This involves increasing the data of Primary Line Treatment Center (FLTC) and recruiting temporary personnel for this so that these centres can treat up to fifty thousand patients at a time. Health Minister KK Shailaja told the media, "We already have two Corona Hospitals in every district. After that, as the figures go up, we have opened one FLTC in every district. We already have 28 FLTCs. Now we are planning to increase its number to 56."
