Winters with a cold breeze makes us want cosy blankets and a cup of coffee. Snuggling in a blanket with a slight chill outside with a bowl of soup is what winters are worthwhile for. Winter cravings like coffee, halwas, or Maggi are the comfort food items. This season seems incomplete without hot beverages to sip in with winter chills.

The winters are for having a warm beverage. Some drinks are loved from earlier times and are traditional ones like ginger tea and coffee and many more. Here we got you some of the recipes for the beverage that makes winter more enjoyable. So, check out these to try this year.

1. Kanji

Kanji is a winter drink you can have routinely in every Indian household. You first need to peel some carrots and then cut and boil them in water. Add some mustard powder and salt accordingly in it. Keep this mix in the sun for 3-4 days to mature.

2. Turmeric milk

Turmeric milk or say it as golden milk is a highly nutritious and comforting drink. It’s a drink you must have when there is a chill outside. Boil one cup of milk and add turmeric powder in it. Mix well and serve hot.

3. Hot chocolate

Chocolate is loved by all. In winter it’s one of the classic drinks to enjoy. Winters without a mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows are just incomplete. Add milk, cocoa powder and some sugar and mix in a pan on high heat. Take it in a mug and add some chocolate chunks on top.

4. Kahwa

Kahwa is a traditional Kashmiri drink. It is consumed to keep the body warm in extreme weather conditions. You need to add saffron, cinnamon, cloves, dried rose petals and cardamom in boiling water. Add a green tea bag and let it settle for a few minutes. Serve with some saffron strands.

5. Kadha

Kadha has eventually become the official drink for the pandemic season. This is also consumed in winters to keep the body nourished and to clean the system. Boil some water and add cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, and some tulsi leaves in it. After 25-30 minutes, strain this mixture and serve hot.
