NEW DELHI: The Indian team continued their impressive performance in the FIH Women's Series finals here, beating Poland 5-0 in the second match on Sunday. For India, Gurjit Kaur scored two goals while Jyoti, Vandana Kataria, and Navneet Kaur each scored one goal each.
According to sources, India had beaten Uruguay 4-1 in the first match on Saturday. The Indian players performed brilliantly from the beginning against Poland. From the first minute, India showed confidence in the attack. However, the team failed to score a goal in the first quarter.
With this, Jyoti got a chance in the 21st minute of the second quarter and gave his team the lead by scoring a goal. Five minutes later, India got a penalty corner, this time Chance Vantana got it. They doubled India's lead by scoring a goal. India got another penalty corner in the 28th minute and this time Gurjit managed to score a straight goal. In the third and fourth quarters also, the Indian team maintained an attacking approach. In the 35th minute, India got a penalty stroke. This time too, Gurjit managed to put the ball in the ball.
