Maharashtra: A file in the Maharashtra Secretariat has been reported to have been tampered with. It is reported that the Secretariat had a signed file of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray which has been tampered with. A case of fraud and forgery has also been filed in the Marine Drive police station in this case. Considering the report of a website, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had signed a file seeking a departmental enquiry against a PWD-looking engineer.
Shortly thereafter, the signature of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray was changed with red ink and it was written that 'investigation should be stopped'. If a report is considered, DCP Zone 1 Sasikumar Meena has also spoken about it. "The case has been registered against the unknown and the investigation is continuing," he says.
Apart from him, a senior bureaucrat said, "The Chief Minister's signature is very powerful and it is a final consensus on the major decisions that have been examined by senior officials and the minister of the department. There are major implications of tampering with a file signed by the Chief Minister." However, the former BJP government had suggested a departmental enquiry against several PWD engineers. A few years ago, it was going to be investigated over alleged economic irregularities during the work done in the JJ School of Art building.
