Kolkata: Grandson of the great freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Chandra Kumar Bose has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Calcutta High Court alleging that the literature of the Indian independence movement is being tampered with. At present, distortions or wrong information about this, which are being shown in films. The government of India should take strict action regarding that.

Talking to the media, Chandra Kumar Bose said, 'Modi government made secret documents public in 2016-17. Subsequently, we received reports which suggest that Netaji Bose had laid down his life on August 18, 1945, but some people are trying to do business by distorting history. A PIL was filed in the Calcutta High Court on Friday.' In which distortions or wrong information, which are being shown in films etc. are being told about tampering with the literature of the freedom movement. Immediate action has been demanded from the Government of India on that.

The petition also calls for more careful verification of the historical authenticity and veracity of events depicted in films, books, and other publications, said a press release issued on Friday. The petitioner also expressed concern over the adverse treatment meted out to leader Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The petitioner said that 'Netaji' lived and served the country during one of the most turbulent times in the history of the subcontinent.
