Indore: Approval has been made regarding the Gaurav Diwas of Indore city of Madhya Pradesh. Indore Gaurav Diwas will be celebrated on 31st May. Approval has been made on this date in the meeting of public representatives. Now after this it has been decided that the Gaurav Diwas of Indore will be celebrated on this date and events will be held for the whole week.

Actually, the CM had said that each city should celebrate its birthday. There was a lot of discussion about celebrating Indore's Gaurav Diwas and it came to the fore as to when to celebrate Gaurav Diwas. A meeting was held for this. Enlightened people of the city, historians, representatives of societies, public representatives and officers were present in the meeting. Everyone gave different dates in it. Most suggested May 31. Due to this, when MLA Ramesh Mendola suggested changing the name of Indore, then poet Satyanarayan Sattan got angry. 

Sattan said that changing the name of the city is like changing the name of one's parents. In other cases, some people expressed their displeasure. Thereafter, a committee was formed under the chairmanship of former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan. It was decided that the date on which this committee would suggest its proposal would be sent to the government.
