Nirmala Sitharaman slams Congress, says, "Why Rahul is silent on Punjab rape case?"

New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held a press conference on Saturday to target opposition Congress and left parties on various issues. She has questioned the silence of opposition leaders over the alleged rape of a girl in Hoshiarpur.

The Finance Minister, while questioning former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, said that the way they showed activism in the Hathras case, why did they not see the activism about the rape cases in Hoshiarpur and Rajasthan? In Punjab, a tragic incident of burning a six-year-old girl in Hoshiarpur has been reported. The child is the daughter of migrant workers. Referring to the incident, the finance minister took a scathing target on The Congress and Rahul Gandhi.

She added, "The Bahamas Congress is silent on this barbarism.' Rahul Gandhi has neither tweeted nor gone to a 'picnic' in this regard." The Congress party chief is a woman herself. Does this type of 'selective outre' befit her party?
