NEW DELHI: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman arrived at North Block, where the Ministry of Finance is housed, ahead of presenting the Union Budget 2025. This is a big deal - it is her eighth consecutive budget, and she will be presenting it at 11 am today in the Lok Sabha.

So, what can we expect from the budget speech? The budget outline the government's plans for taxes, spending, and economic growth. The Economic Survey, which was presented yesterday, predicts that India's economy will grow by 6.3-6.8 percent in the next financial year.

The survey also highlights the government's plans to boost industrial growth by investing in research and development, small businesses, and capital goods. This should help India become more competitive globally and create more jobs.

Some other interesting points from the survey: food inflation is expected to decrease, India's foreign exchange reserves are strong, and the formal employment sector is growing rapidly. In fact, the number of people subscribing to the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has more than doubled since 2019.
As expextaton builds, people across the country are eager to see what changes and announcements the budget will bring, especially regarding economic growth, employment, and public welfare.

Overall, it seems like the government is feeling optimistic about India's economic future. We will have to wait and see how the budget is received, but for now, things are looking up.
