New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will meet with representatives of the country's main industry organizations before presenting her first full budget. The meeting, which is slated for June 11, is expected to be attended by representatives of industry bodies such as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). This will be the first joint meeting of the country's first full-time women finance Minister, Sitharaman.

According to news agency PTI, the meeting is expected to discuss increasing foreign investment (FDI) and industrial production. Finance Minister considers merger issue to boost productivity, expansion of service category to meet domestic demand and changes in fee structure to encourage domestic production and exports. It may be noted that most industry bodies have already submitted their demands to brainstorm the Ministry of Finance.

Newly appointed finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the first full budget of the Modi government's second term on July 5. Earlier, Nirmala Sitharaman is also seeking new ideas and suggestions on the budget through social media.  Sitharaman, in a recent tweet, has said, "scholars, economist and anyone who is interested can give their suggestions through print electronic and social media. I read them and my team will gather those suggestions. Your every suggestion is valuable. ' '
