Finance Ministry releases Rs 162 cr for development of U’Khand

The Union Ministry of Finance released the remaining Rs 162 crore for Uttarakhand's development on Monday under the 'Scheme of Financial Assistance to States for Capital Investment.'

The first Rs 365 crore has already been released, and the union cabinet has now approved the remaining Rs 162 crore. The state has so been awarded a total of Rs 527 crore for the purpose of development.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for issuing the required amount, saying, "Uttarakhand is moving towards the path of development with the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the cooperation of the Central Government."  Dhami declared on March 29, 2022, that the state administration is determined to become Uttarakhand the country's number one state by 2025.

According to an official statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), funds from the state's Consolidated Fund will be needed for the fiscal year 2022-23, and a four-month vote on the account has been presented in the House for the withdrawal of committed items, in accordance with the provisions of Article 206 of the Constitution.  He also stated that the state administration is committed to delivering on the promises and commitments made to the people of the state, as well as the Governor's address resolutions.
