The instant messaging app WhatsApp’s fingerprint authentication feature has been one of the most popular additions that the Facebook-owned platform rolled out for the instant messaging app. However, this feature is only available for iOS users as they can use Touch ID to unlock their WhatsApp app.
according to a report, WhatsApp fingerprint authentication feature has been spotted in Android beta versions of the app. While WABetaInfo has shared the screenshots showing the new WhatsApp feature for Android beta users. According to the source, the WhatsApp fingerprint authentication feature will let users lock their app and use their fingerprint sensors to unlock the WhatsApp app.

The users can enable this feaature by going on to WhatsApp Settings >Account >Privacy > Use Fingerprint to Unlock. Once the fingerprint authentication option is enabled, WhatsApp will then register your fingerprint and it will ask to choose whether you want the app to be locked immediately (after you leave the app), after 1 minute, 10 minutes or 30 minutes. After the WhatsApp fingerprint authentication feature is enabled, the app will show a sign which will indicate that you need to use your fingerprint to unlock the app.
Amazon Pay planning to launch these new features for ease payment
The report suggest that this feature for WhatsApp beta users on Android isn't enabled yet, however, it might be rolled out in future updates.
